Kakaire’s family has better hygiene

P1010315
Dear Dennis,

Kakaire Arajeb is a 32 year old produce seller who resides in the Bulamagi village of the Iganga District with his wife and 3 children. One of their children died two years ago from diarrheal disease. When asked how he felt now that he had a hand washing device, he said that he was happy because it will improve the hygiene and sanitation of his family.

“I lost a child from diarrheal disease, the doctor told me it is caused by drinking untreated water,  contaminated food and also due to lack of hand-washing – all related to hygiene and sanitation. With the tippy-tap it is better than holding a jerrycan and is easier to use,” he said as he intently watched Ruth our Village Health Team sanitation focal person show him how to use the tippy-tap (Kakaire-extreme right).

Kakaire and his family are very grateful for the Uganda Village Project and for your donation Dennis, which is helping improve sanitation for their family and the village.
