A mosquito net for his brother

IMG_1127
Dear Srikanth,

Waiswa (right) is a 29 year old father of 4 children who resides in Nawasenga B’ Village of Uganda, a new village that UVP took on mid last year. Waiswa is a subsistence farmer, barely making ends meet. His youngest daughter, Sulaina, fell ill from malaria and Waiswa’s older brother Moses wanted to ensure that it did not happen again and therefore invested in a mosquito net for his brother’s family.

When asked why he bought a net for his brother, he said, “I have bought a net because this area has very many mosquitoes and I have had malaria before, and now Waiswa’s child also got malaria and was very very sick.  My family already sleeps under a mosquito net, I want to ensure the same for my brother’s children.”

When we asked Waiswa what he thought he said, “I am very grateful he bought my Sulaina a net which she will share with her siblings. I will save up and buy another net. Thank you very much.”

Waiswa and Moses asked us to pass on a big thank you to you Srikanth!
