gave 20 for a mosquito net |
posted April 20, 2012

Dear Kelly,
Matayo and Catherine are 64 and 57 years old respectively and they reside in Butongole village, Uganda, a village that UVP has been working in for the past three years. Both Matayo and Catherine are farmers and are currently taking care of their grandson Tadeo who is 5 years old, as their daughter has gone in search of work in the capital city.
When asked why they bought a net, they said , “We bought a net because our grandson did not have one, we have attended malaria education sessions that UVP has held in our village and we had previously bought ourselves nets. When our grandson came to live with us we knew he needed one, to protect him from mosquioto’s this area has many mosquito’s and therefore we learnt that using a net is a form of prevention. We asked our daughter to send money, and we appreciate that UVP subsidizes the nets. We are very grateful. Thank you.”
Both Matayo and Catherine asked us to pass on a big thank you to you Venkat!
