Irene is a 19 year old Form III student (third year of secondary school) from the village of Nawansega B in a rural region of the Iganga District in Uganda. She is in a relationship with her boyfriend whom she intends to marry in the future. When asked why she came for the the HIV testing outreach in the community, she said this: “My plans are to finish my studies and live better and healthier in this world. One way to achieve this is to know my HIV status and that of my partner so that we all take care for our lives. I thank Uganda Village Project and their donors for supporting and giving me and other community members access to HIV testing in my village. May God reward them good things for their support to us.”
Kandace, your generosity ensures Irene and everyone else in the Nawansega B village can take care of themselves and their community. Thank you!
