Hand-washing made easier
posted June 20, 2011

Charles Maganda is a 38 year old father of 5. He resides in Bugabula village, Iganga District in Uganda with his wife and children. When he become aware that our crew was in his village assisting residents build tippy taps, he walked up to us and expressed how eagerly he had been waiting for the crew to get to his house.
He had already gathered the local materials needed and just wanted assistance putting up the tippy tap. As we walked to his house, we couldn’t help but notice the wide grin on his face as he intently watched as well as assisted the crew in setting up his tippy tap.
I later asked him how he felt once it was complete and fully working. He expressed his gratitude and explained how his family could now easily wash their hands thus preventing the spread of disease. Thank you James for providing tippy taps for Maganda and nine other households!
